Dental Implant Services in Tamarac
State-of-the-Art, High-Tech Implant Dentistry
A dental implant is a titanium post that is inserted into the jaw to function as a replacement root for a missing tooth. The implant serves as a foundation for a dental crown, a bridge or a denture. Dental implants are the strongest, most lifelike and longest-lasting replacement tooth option, and they are considered the modern gold standard of tooth replacement.
Dr. Levine and Dr. Porras are highly trained and experienced specialists in dental implant treatment, and they have placed thousands of implants. They use state-of-the-art technology and minimally invasive procedures to make your implant treatment efficient and comfortable. Thanks to modern implant techniques, we are able to help most patients enjoy the benefits implants have to offer.
Skilled specialist for precision dental implant placement
Dr. Levine has been placing implants since 1985. In addition to periodontal training, he has earned extensive postgraduate certifications from several of the most renowned implant training institutes in the United States, including the Misch International Implant Institute and the Pikos Institute.
He has also received extensive instruction from three of the country’s most prominent dental implant surgeons, Dr. Hilt Tatum, Dr. Gerald Niznick and Dr. Hamid Shafie. Dr. Levine maintains an extensive schedule of continuing education to stay on the cutting edge of implant technology, enabling him to provide his patients with the highest-quality treatment.
Dr. Levine has been an accomplished educator of other dental practitioners for over 40 years. He taught periodontics as a faculty member at the University of Florida, Nova Southeastern University and Broward College. He currently teaches implant dentistry and other periodontal procedures to his colleagues as a Florida dental continuing education provider.
Our Dental Implant Services
Dr. Levine and Dr. Porras provide the complete range of dental implant services. Below are some of the implant options we provide to replace one, several or all of your teeth.
To replace one missing tooth, we place a single dental implant which is then topped by a dental crown.
To replace several missing teeth in a row, we will place multiple implants to support a dental bridge.
Implant-supported, snap-on dentures
We can place a series of implants across your dental arch to stably retain a new acrylic denture in place. The underside of the denture has special attachments that allow the denture to snap onto the implants. The snaps hold it firmly in position, though you can still remove the denture at any time for cleaning or other care. When snapped on, the denture will not slip or need messy adhesives, and your chewing power will be significantly increased.
Implants to stabilize your denture
We can modify your current denture so that it will snap onto implants and be firmly held in place. Your denture will function similarly to the new snap-on, removable denture described above. It will be stable and will provide greater chewing power.
Implant-supported, full-arch fixed-in new teeth in one day with TeethXpress®
We can place four to eight implants in each jaw to support a full-arch set of new replacement teeth that are securely fixed-in and can only be removed by a dentist. Using the breakthrough TeethXpress system, we are able to provide most patients with implant-supported full-arch replacement teeth without the need for bone grafting. This even includes patients with severe bone loss who would not have been candidates for implants in the past.
Your new teeth will be made of high-quality materials and will look totally natural. They will have no false upper palate to interfere with your sense of taste and they will provide 80 to 90 percent of the chewing power of regular teeth. We can usually arrange for you to receive any needed extractions, all necessary implants and a functional set of new teeth all on the same day!

Our Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implant placement is a delicate and precise procedure that requires thorough diagnostics, detailed planning and meticulous execution. Dr. Levine and his associate, Dr. Porras, use the latest technology and advanced, minimally invasive procedures to make your treatment efficient and comfortable.
State-of-the-art digital diagnostics
Your care starts with comprehensive diagnostics which include digital X-rays and a dental 3D CT scan. Our scanner takes a series of X-rays in a complete circle around your head and processes them into highly detailed, 3D 360-degree views of your teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures. Your doctor will use this information to precisely plan your treatment.
Computer-guided treatment planning
The doctor will load your 3D CT scan images into special implant planning software to precisely map out the exact position, angle and depth of insertion for each implant. As necessary, he will also plan out any bone grafting that may be needed to provide enough support for your implants to be strong and stable.
Surgical guides to guarantee placement accuracy
When needed, the doctors use the planning information from the software to create a state-of-the-art surgical guide. A surgical guide is a template that fits over your dental arch and marks exactly where and at what angle your implants should be placed. Use of the guide helps make your implant placement efficient, accurate and minimally invasive.
Gentle and nontraumatic extractions
When performing an extraction, the doctors use a special instrument to delicately disconnect the tooth from the surrounding tissues, and a second instrument to gently lift it straight up out of the tooth socket. This method causes minimal or no damage to the surrounding gum and bone and creates little to no discomfort. It prevents swelling and speeds healing time, and it can also reduce or eliminate the need for bone grafting after an extraction.
When bone volume needs to be augmented to support an implant, your doctor will place graft material into the implant site to stimulate the generation of new bone. He uses cutting-edge procedures and advanced materials for minimally invasive and effective bone regeneration.
The doctor will take platelet-rich plasma, extracted from a small amount of your own blood, and apply it to the treatment area. The plasma has growth proteins that speed up healing and increase the strength and density of new gum and bone tissue. These proteins reduce swelling and inflammation, prevent infection and lessen postoperative discomfort.
Low-level laser therapy
We perform low-level laser therapy on all the treated tissues at the end of the procedure. The laser energy helps stimulate healing while reducing swelling and discomfort.
Multiple assistants for faster and more comfortable treatment
We perform our procedures with two or three surgical assistants helping simultaneously. This allows us to perform the procedure faster, without sacrificing any precision or quality. Patients have a far more comfortable experience, with less time in the chair, reduced swelling and faster healing.
Immediate temporary teeth to maintain your smile
When an implant is placed in a visible area, the doctor will arrange a temporary restoration that does not put any pressure on the implant while it heals, but will maintain the aesthetics of your smile. Your final restoration is placed after your implant has fully healed.
Monitoring your healing
After an implant has been placed, the bone surrounding it will fuse with the implant. This anchors the implant firmly in your jaw and makes it strong enough to support a final restoration.
The doctors utilize an advanced implant stability meter that bounces small magnetic pulses off the implant to determine the level of bone integration and thus stability. The readings from the meter indicate precisely when the implant is stable enough to support new teeth. This system takes the guesswork out of implant stability. Our doctors are often able to place new teeth earlier than they would have without the meter.
Your beautiful, final new teeth
We partner with highly skilled local restorative dentists and prosthodontists, specialists in the creation of prosthetic teeth, to craft your new implant-supported replacement teeth. Your new teeth will be fabricated from high-quality materials to fit your needs and preferences. There are various options, including zirconia, a state-of-the-art dental ceramic that is highly lifelike and resistant to wear.
Your teeth will be carefully designed and crafted to look natural and align well with your bite. We will help you pick the practitioner who will best suit your specific needs.
Keeping You Comfortable
Our doctors and staff take care to make your treatment as gentle and comfortable as possible. When giving an injection, our doctors use the DentalVibe® injection device to remove all unpleasant sensation, resulting in a virtually painless experience.
In your treatment room, we offer you a choice of music or soothing sounds to create a relaxed environment. We also provide blankets, pillows and massage pads for added comfort in the treatment chair. If you need extra help to reduce heightened anxiety, we have sedation options available.
Complimentary Annual Evaluations
All of our prior implant patients receive an annual complimentary inspection and evaluation of the condition of their implants in terms of stability and health. The evaluation includes complimentary digital X-rays. You can take advantage of this offer every year for as long as we are in practice.
