Dental Hope

We just had to highlight a great article written by Dr. Lee Sheldon, a periodontist practicing in Melbourne, Florida, and a long-time colleague of Dr. Levine.

“If You’ve Given Up on Dentistry” was written to help encourage the community that doesn’t currently visit a dentist, has had bad dental experiences, or maybe was overwhelmed hearing their diagnosis. There is hope for you.

With the advent of dental implants, teeth that couldn’t be saved can now be replaced without damaging adjacent teeth. Dental implants are a great alternative for denture patients, especially those who don’t like wearing dentures. These patients often discontinue visiting the dentist once they get dentures, even though they should. Implants can also be used to stabilize dentures and create more comfort.

There are patients who have given up on dentistry. In many cases, they have had several dental visits, and even continual dental failure. Misdiagnosis can often lead to this. As a specialty dental practice focusing on periodontics, we thoroughly examine the entire mouth, and educate our patients to understand the quality of health in their entire mouth. Periodontists are trained in full mouth diagnosis, full mouth treatment planning, and coordinating treatment with the patient’s general and/or restorative dentist.

Most people don’t know that they are able to visit a periodontist without being referred by their general dentist. But you can. If you have especially complex dental needs, the time spent dedicated to diagnosis and comprehensive treatment planning can work wonders, save you considerable money, and give you the predictability you are looking for.

We prioritize educating the community and our patients on the importance of oral health. That’s why we offer a complimentary new patient evaluation, including digital images, a full mouth examination, and treatment consultation. We want the first steps of achieving dental wellness to be as stress free as possible for our patients. We invite you, or any of your friends and family that could use our guidance to contact us today to schedule your complimentary evaluation – (954) 603-8728.
