State-of-the-Art, High-Tech Implant Dentistry

A dental implant is a titanium post that is inserted into the jaw to function as a replacement root for a missing tooth. The implant serves as a foundation for a dental crown, a bridge or a denture. Dental implants are the strongest, most lifelike and longest-lasting replacement tooth option, and they are considered the modern gold standard of tooth replacement.

Dr. Levine is a highly trained and experienced specialist in dental implant treatment, and he has placed thousands of dental implants. He uses state-of-the-art technology and minimally invasive procedures to make your implant treatment efficient and comfortable. Thanks to modern implant techniques, we are able to help most patients enjoy the benefits implants have to offer.

Our Dental Implants

Dr. Levine provides the complete range of dental implant services. Below are some of the implant options we provide to replace one, several or all of your teeth.

  • Individual dental implants

To replace one missing tooth, we place a single dental implant which is then topped by a dental crown.

  • Implant-supported bridges

To replace several missing teeth in a row, we will place multiple dental implants to support a dental bridge.

  • Implant-supported, snap-on dentures

implantsupporteddenturesWe can place a series of dental implants across your dental arch to stably retain a new acrylic denture in place. The underside of the denture has special attachments that allow the denture to snap onto the implants. The snaps hold it firmly in position, though you can still remove the denture at any time for cleaning or other care. When snapped on, the denture will not slip or need messy adhesives, and your chewing power will be significantly increased.

  • Dental implants to stabilize your denture

denturestabilization2We can modify your current denture so that it will snap onto dental implants and be firmly held in place. Your denture will function similarly to the new snap-on, removable denture described above. It will be stable and will provide greater chewing power.

  • Implant-supported, full-arch fixed-in new teeth in one day with TeethXpress®

tx_teeth-smallWe can place four to eight dental implants in each jaw to support a full-arch set of new replacement teeth that are securely fixed-in and can only be removed by a dentist. Our Dental Implant Procedure

Placement of dental implants is a delicate and precise procedure that requires thorough diagnostics, detailed planning and meticulous execution. Dr. Levine uses the latest technology and advanced, minimally invasive procedures to make your treatment efficient and comfortable.

State-of-the-art digital diagnostics

Your care starts with comprehensive diagnostics which include digital X-rays and a dental 3D CT scan. Our scanner takes a series of X-rays in a complete circle around your head and processes them into highly detailed, 3D 360-degree views of your teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures. Dr. Levine will use this information to precisely plan your treatment.

Computer-guided treatment planning

Carestream 8100-image

Dr. Levine uses special implant planning software to plan your treatment in detail.

Dr. Levine will load your 3D CT scan images into special implant planning software to precisely map out the exact position, angle and depth of insertion for each implant. As necessary, he will also plan out any bone grafting that may be needed to provide enough support for your dental implants to be strong and stable.

Surgical guides to guarantee placement accuracy

When needed, Dr. Levine uses the planning information from the software to create a state-of-the-art surgical guide. A surgical guide is a template that fits over your dental arch and marks exactly where and at what angle your dental implants should be placed. Use of the guide helps make your implant placement efficient, accurate and minimally invasive.

Gentle and nontraumatic extractions

When performing an extraction, Dr. Levine uses a special instrument to delicately disconnect the tooth from the surrounding tissues, and a second instrument to gently lift it straight up out of the tooth socket. This method causes minimal or no damage to the surrounding gum and bone and creates little to no discomfort. It prevents swelling and speeds healing time, and it can also reduce or eliminate the need for bone grafting after an extraction.

Bone grafting

bonegraftWhen bone volume needs to be augmented to support an implant, Dr. Levine will place graft material into the implant site to stimulate the generation of new bone. He uses cutting-edge procedures and advanced materials for minimally invasive and effective bone regeneration.

S.M.A.R.T. Minimally Invasive Bone Grafting

S.M.A.R.T. logo
S.M.A.R.T. or subperiosteal minimally invasive aesthetic ridge augmentation is available to predictably manage complex cases in the esthetic zone. It was developed by Dr. Ernesto Lee in Philadelphia.

It is a simplified and efficient alternative to hip grafts, block grafts and traditional augmentation procedures, while avoiding soft tissue defects and loss of papillae. It is useful to treat challenging cases including widening of the ridges, bone loss around implants and vertical augmentations. Laparoscopic principles and special instruments are used to achieve predictable results, with less discomfort, swelling and fewer complications.

Multiple assistants for faster and more comfortable treatment

We perform our procedures with two or three surgical assistants helping simultaneously. This allows us to perform the procedure faster, without sacrificing any precision or quality. Patients have a far more comfortable experience, with less time in the chair, reduced swelling and faster healing.

Immediate temporary teeth to maintain your smile

When an implant is placed in a visible area, Dr. Levine will arrange a temporary restoration that does not put any pressure on the implant while it heals, but will maintain the aesthetics of your smile. Your final restoration is placed after your implant has fully healed.

Monitoring your healing

After an implant has been placed, the bone surrounding it will fuse with the implant. This anchors the implant firmly in your jaw and makes it strong enough to support a final restoration.

Dr. Levine utilizes an advanced implant stability meter that bounces small magnetic pulses off the implant to determine the level of bone integration and thus stability. The readings from the meter indicate precisely when the implant is stable enough to support new teeth. This system takes the guesswork out of implant stability. Dr. Levine is often able to place new teeth earlier than he would have without the meter.

Your beautiful, final new teeth

We partner with highly skilled local restorative dentists and prosthodontists, specialists in the creation of prosthetic teeth, to craft your new implant-supported replacement teeth. Your new teeth will be fabricated from high-quality materials to fit your needs and preferences. There are various options, including zirconia, a state-of-the-art dental ceramic that is highly lifelike and resistant to wear.

Your teeth will be carefully designed and crafted to look natural and align well with your bite. We will help you pick the practitioner who will best suit your specific needs.
